Project Finance Workshop
The overall objective of the Project Finance workshop is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively in the complex global and African project finance landscape, with the aim of enabling them to present bankable transactions for consideration by the Bank.
The workshop will explore key aspects of project finance, including the relevance of due diligence workstreams, the required counterparties, and the typical documentation and information needed to support a thorough due diligence review process.
In addition, the workshop will feature a dedicated segment on Afreximbank’s loan syndication processes and requirements relevant to structuring bankable deals across the continent. This segment will provide an in-depth look at the various syndication participants, with a particular focus on the pivotal role of the Mandated Lead Arranger. It will also cover key syndication processes, including when and how to incorporate diverse lender requirements, as well as the standard market-compliant information typically required across different due diligence streams.
Furthermore, the workshop will present alternative options for structuring syndicated loans to align with the needs of borrowers, lenders, and investors—such as comparing club deals versus full syndication.
Accordingly, this year’s theme is:
“Addressing Key Challenges in Structuring and Attaining Financial Close on Project Finance Transactions.”
