Intra-African Logistics

This module uses a problem-based approach to introduce the key concepts of developing an export market. It assumes you have already completed the general modules titled EXPORT MARKET RESEARCH MARKET ACCESS CONDITIONS and FINANCING INTRA-AFRICAN TRADE. If you have not completed them yet, you can access the modules through the AFRACAD catalogue.   

After completing this module, you should be able to assess the feasibility of sending your goods to different African markets and have a costed plan for doing so.

On completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Identify the best route to your chosen market and the most efficient mode of transport for getting your goods there.
• Arrange for your goods to be transported by a freight forwarder using Incoterms to clearly set out your cost obligations and risks at each stage of the journey.
• Calculate the landed costs for your export including insurance and make pricing decisions based on this information.
